Structured Turns 5!
April 10, 2025
Five years ago, the world felt like it had hit pause. It was early 2020, lockdowns had just begun, streets were empty, and life as we knew it changed overnight. Back then, structure was hard to come by. Daily routines of commuting, meeting friends, and going out disappeared almost overnight.
Out of that uncertainty, Structured was created to bring back a sense of routine. What started as a simple side project by our founder, Leo, quickly grew into a powerful daily planner that helps millions of people organize their schedules, manage tasks, and boost productivity.
Fast forward to today, and we’re beyond grateful to have reached nearly 9 million users in the past year alone! Your support has made this journey possible.
Now, let’s take a look back at the highlights from the past 12 months and what’s next for Structured.
Completing the Structured Family
The last year was all about one big goal: making Structured accessible everywhere. What began as an iOS-only app in April 2020 has now grown into the Structured Family, helping users stay organized across multiple platforms. After launching Structured for 🤖 Android in late 2023, we took another big step forward with the release of 🌐 Structured Web in August 2024.
To make this experience even smoother, Structured Cloud Sync now keeps your tasks, events, and plans seamlessly synced across all devices. Wherever you are, whatever platform you use, Structured is always just a tap away to keep you on track.
Structured Updates on iOS 🍎
Over the past year, we've pushed boundaries and introduced powerful new features to Structured for iOS. The release of Structured 4.0 brought an entirely new experience, giving users more flexibility and control over their schedules.
We also took Structured AI to the next level, making it even smarter and more intuitive for organizing and restructuring your day. Moreover, we introduced Cycle Seasons, a groundbreaking and powerful tool designed to help menstruating people align their plans with their cycle.
Structured 4.0
In January 2025, we introduced Structured 4.0, the first major update and redesign in two years, bringing fresh weekly and monthly views to revolutionize your planning experience. True to our motto, New Perspectives, this update makes scheduling more intuitive than ever. We are especially proud of the weekly view, which seamlessly integrates our unique timeline design, offering a clear at-a-glance overview of your entire week. Planning ahead has never been easier!
Along with these new features, we have redesigned the user interface to be cleaner and more user-friendly. On iOS devices, the new tab bar at the bottom of the screen allows effortless navigation between your inbox, timeline views, Structured AI, and settings, ensuring a smoother and more efficient planning experience.

Structured AI
The Structured AI has undergone two major transformations in the past year, making it more intelligent and versatile than ever.
In June 2024, we introduced a completely reimagined Structured AI, powered by GPT-4o. It goes beyond simply creating tasks, helping you plan trips, recommend recipes, and even scan physical calendars to integrate them seamlessly into your timeline. As part of this launch, we successfully rolled out a Back to School campaign, equipping German universities with 9,000 physical weekly calendars, all scannable with Structured AI.
The second major Structured AI update arrived with Structured 4.0 in January 2025. Now, Structured AI is not just about planning your day. It helps you adapt when plans change. If you sleep in and need to adjust your schedule, Structured AI can automatically reschedule your tasks. If you are on vacation, it can clear an entire day or week to remove your usual work routine, keeping your timeline clean.
With these updates, Structured AI is smarter, more flexible, and designed to keep up with your life, no matter how unpredictable it gets.

Cycle Seasons
One of our favorite projects from the past year was Cycle Seasons, a tool that maps your current menstrual cycle phase in Structured. Much like our Energy Monitor, which we released the year before, Cycle Seasons raises awareness of how different factors can impact productivity. With the Cycle Seasons feature, Structured is pioneering a new approach in the productivity space, further setting itself apart from other planning tools.
By understanding which phase of the cycle you are in, you can visualize its benefits and challenges, helping you plan your workload more effectively. As part of our Women’s March campaign, our social media team launched the Cycle Logical series, highlighting each phase of the cycle and how to adapt your daily planning accordingly.
We were also thrilled to see Cycle Seasons featured on the App Store. You can read the full App Store interview with our illustrator Charlotte, who originally proposed the idea for Cycle Seasons, here.

Other New Features on iOS
In addition to the major updates, we've also introduced countless other features and performance improvements for iOS. To name just a few, we’ve added new notification and in-app sounds, revamped our color palette, fine-tuned the copy day feature, and implemented an undo/redo feature. With the release of iOS 18, we also introduced Structured Controls, giving you even more customization and control over your planning experience.
Structured Updates on Android 🤖
As the little sibling to the iOS app, Structured on Android is still growing and learning, adding new features to improve your planning experience. Since its initial release in late 2023, Structured on Android has been catching up with its Apple counterpart, and we’ve been listening closely to user feedback.
We’ve implemented some of the most requested features, including Structured Cloud sync to seamlessly connect your devices and Android widgets to quickly check your schedule right from your home screen. These additions bring us closer to providing a fully integrated experience across platforms, making it easier than ever to stay organized.
Structured Cloud
After overcoming the initial challenge of developing Structured for a new operating system, our biggest hurdle was connecting Android, iOS, and our newly released Structured Web app. This required a lot of effort and back-and-forth, but thanks to the dedication of our talented developers, we successfully unified these platforms.
Now, Structured is seamlessly connected for everyone, everywhere—ensuring that your plans, tasks, and schedules are always in sync across all devices, completely free of charge. This milestone marks a significant step in our mission to make Structured the most accessible and flexible productivity tool available.
Widgets
Right after releasing Structured Cloud sync, our Android users were eager for widgets. Responding to this demand, our one (and only, but awesome) Android developer Rui got straight to work to bring this feature to life.
In February 2025, we rolled out widgets on Android, making it easier for users to stay on track and access their schedule with just a tap. This update added another key feature from iOS, helping our Android user base stay organized and connected.

Energy Monitor
Another major feature from iOS, the Energy Monitor, was released on Android in May 2025. Developed in collaboration with researchers and medical professionals from the Dutch institute Breinstraat, the Energy Monitor helps you to monitor your daily available energy.
This tool allows you to better understand your energy levels throughout the day, so you can plan tasks more effectively and stay productive without burning out. Now available on both iOS and Android, the Energy Monitor continues to empower users to optimize their daily routines based on their energy patterns.
Release of Structured Web 🌐
The launch of Structured Web in August 2024 marks a major milestone in our mission to make Structured accessible to everyone. Our new web-based version of Structured is fully browser-compatible, allowing you to plan and organize your life from virtually any device, without needing an Apple device. With Structured Web, we’re also excited to introduce web payments, making it easier than ever to manage your plans and subscriptions online.
In less than a year, we released Structured Web 1.0 in early April 2025. With this launch, Structured Web received a complete makeover from our UX designer Isabella — not only giving the app a fresh visual upgrade, but also introducing new features like keyboard shortcuts to enhance the overall experience.
While Structured Web currently includes the essential Structured features, it doesn’t yet offer the full range of tools available on iOS. However, our one and only (but truly brilliant) web developer Ishaan is working at warp speed to bring even more features to the browser version.
Next on the list are the highly requested weekly view and monthly view, designed to help you plan big on larger screens.

Structured Website Makeover
Not to be confused with our Structured Web app, we’ve also launched a brand-new website that beautifully reflects the essence of Structured. With a modern, interactive design, our website offers an engaging experience that showcases the heart of our brand.
The highlight on our landing page? Our very first professional brand movie, filmed in Berlin during the summer of 2024. This video captures the spirit of Structured and the people behind it, giving you a closer look at our mission.
As you navigate through the site, you can interactively explore Structured’s core features and see what sets us apart as a productivity app. We’ve also added a team section, where you can get to know the faces behind Structured, brought to life through charming illustrations by our illustrator Charlotte.
If you haven’t already, visit our official website to experience Structured like never before.

Behind the Scenes
Curious about what goes on behind the scenes at Structured? Our team has grown into a passionate group of 15 people working remotely across five continents. We are more than just app and web developers. Our team includes illustrators, designers, social media producers, UX researchers, QA testers, copywriters, and customer support specialists, all dedicated to building and improving Structured. If you would like to get to know us better, visit our team section on the website to explore the faces and talents behind the app.
In December 2024, nearly the entire team met in person for the first time during a memorable gathering in Prague. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, share ideas, and strengthen our team spirit. Because the experience was so meaningful, we are already planning our next in-person meetup in Italy this summer.
And since we are serious about sticking to our goals, many of us will be running in the Berlin Half Marathon in May 2025. Stay tuned to our social media channels to cheer us up!

What’s Next?
Now that Structured is available across all major platforms, we are just getting started. Our mission is to deliver a seamless experience across devices by making every feature accessible to all users, no matter where they plan. But our vision goes beyond feature parity. We aim to deepen our understanding of how Structured can help people achieve their personal goals more effectively.
A key part of that journey is the valuable feedback we receive from our community. We actively collect suggestions on our Feedback Board and incorporate them into our evolving Roadmap.
We are also committed to making Structured more inclusive. Many users with ADHD or on the autism spectrum have shared how Structured supports their daily routines. In response, we partnered with the external researcher David from the Max Planck Institute in Berlin to evaluate and refine our features for greater impact. You can learn more about this ongoing research here.
As always, we have plenty of exciting ideas ahead. Now that Structured syncs effortlessly across personal devices, could collaborative planning be next? And what about better ways to handle all those unfinished tasks at the end of the day? Stay tuned — the best is yet to come.
